The Ultraman series officially celebrated its 60th anniversary on Friday, July 10, 2026. 

Having transcended generations, national borders, and languages to become a worldwide cultural icon, the milestone Ultraman Day was commemorated with numerous global events across multiple countries and regions. Fans around the world raised their voices in celebration, generating unprecedented enthusiasm and excitement.

 

A Worldwide Celebration of 60 Years of Light

 

Mainland China 

 

Weekly hero meet-and-greet events featuring the newest Ultra Hero, Ultraman Teo, alongside other heroes, were held in various cities. The latest hero, Teo, interacted with numerous fans and children, sharing special moments together. 

 

 

Furthermore, on July 10, the official Ultraman Day and 60th anniversary, a massive campaign was deployed across 22 cities, utilizing over 42,500 large subway screens and more than 250 large commercial facility screens to grandly celebrate the anniversary.

 

 

United States

 

From July 10 to 12, Kohji Moritsugu, renowned for his role as Dan Moroboshi in numerous productions including Ultraseven, participated in autograph sessions and talk events at G-FEST in Chicago, one of North America’s largest tokusatsu fan conventions. The appearance of an Ultra Legend on the 60th anniversary generated massive excitement among American tokusatsu fans. 

 

During the talk event on July 11, Mr. Moritsugu greeted local fans in English, stating, “I am Moroboshi Dan. I’m so happy to be here. It’s great to see you all. Thank you very much”. He further delighted the audience by performing the Ultraseven transformation pose to a standing ovation.

 

 

Brazil 

From July 2 to 5, Ultraman appeared for the second consecutive year at Anime Friends in São Paulo, South America’s largest anime festival. The event featured screenings of the newest 60th-anniversary series, Ultraman Teo, alongside hero stage shows, meet-and-greets, and a collaboration cafe. Local tokusatsu fans formed long lines for the Ultra Hero greetings, while the Kaiju meet-and-greets featured a spectacular lineup ranging from classic kaiju to the Absolutians, deeply satisfying fans across all generations.

 

 

Additionally, a live stage show and screening were held to coincide with the simultaneous global broadcast and streaming premiere of Ultraman Teo Episode 1. Following the screening, a powerful live stage show featuring Teo and legacy Ultra Heroes drew massive cheers from an audience of thousands. Fans continuously cheered for Teo, a hero possessing a gentle heart who truly does not want to fight, yet courageously stands against any powerful foe for the sake of what he must protect. The venue was also filled with emotion over the passionate master-student bond between Ultraman Zero and Ultraman Z, as well as a surprise appearance by Zero’s father, Ultraseven, who came to his rescue.

 

 

South Korea 

 

South Korea hosted two major local events, marking a first for the Ultraman series in the country. First, ULTRAMAN FESTA, Korea’s first exclusive Ultraman event, was held in Seoul from June 27 to 28. In addition to hero meet-and-greets, a collaboration cafe, and a merchandise shop, the event hosted Korea’s first UCG (Ultraman Card Game) Ultra League tournament. Approximately 5,000 guests attended the two-day event, with the passion of Korean Ultraman fans and Ultra Leaguers successfully reaching the heroes.

 

 

Following this, Korea’s first Ultraman pop-up store, ULTRAMAN POPUP, opened in Seoul from July 10 to 16 in conjunction with Ultraman Day. The store offered a wide array of exclusive 60th-anniversary merchandise, and Ultra Heroes, including Teo, held greeting sessions with local fans. Over 2,000 visitors attended, creating unforgettable memories unique to Ultraman Day.

 

 

Indonesia 

In Jakarta, Indonesia, a month-long event, ULTRAMAN THE HERO PREMIERE in Indonesia, took place from June 12 to July 12. The venue featured statues of the New Generation Ultra Heroes, an exhibition of transformation toys looking back on the series’ history, and a large-scale display of Tiga and Gomora, creating an immersive space where visitors could experience the world of Ultraman. The new hero, Ultraman Teo, made his Indonesian debut to a highly enthusiastic welcome from fans, bringing immense excitement to the venue through various activities including meet-and-greets, exclusive merchandise sales, artist performances, and a coloring contest.

 

 

In conjunction with the event, Ultraman and Ultraman Zero visited elementary schools in Jakarta to interact with local children. Coloring events were also held on-site, allowing the participating children and Ultra Heroes to share a joyful time together.

 

 

Vietnam 

 

From July 10 to 12, ULTRAMAN THE HERO PREMIERE in Vietnam was held at AEON Mall Binh Tan. The event featured mini stage shows and hero meet-and-greets, as well as a coloring challenge where children used the power of imagination to draw their Ultra dreams, and an exhibition tracing the history of the Ultraman series. Highlighted by the simulcast and streaming of Ultraman Teo, the event significantly heightened anticipation for future broadcasts of the series in Vietnam.

 

 

 

An Unending Global Celebration: Upcoming Schedules

 

The worldwide celebration of the Ultraman Series 60th Anniversary is still going strong!

 

• Taiwan: From July 24 to August 16, the “Ultraman Teo THE LIVE in Taiwan” stage show is scheduled to take place. Ultra Heroes will assemble to deliver a passionate live stage performance for the fans.

 

 

• Hong Kong: From July 25 to September 13, the ULTRA HEROES EXHIBITION 2026 in Hong Kong will be held. The exhibition will feature numerous displays allowing visitors to intimately experience the 60-year history of the Ultraman series, with scheduled appearances by Ultra Heroes.
