Tsuburaya Productions Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Masayuki Nagatake) will open ULTRA MART TOKYO, a new experiential culture and retail destination operated directly by Tsuburaya Productions, in Tokyo’s Harajuku area on Friday, July 10, 2026. 

The first theme, “ULTRA CUTE,” will feature an immersive space and limited-edition merchandise that brings a cute world to life, including exclusive collaboration products with the popular character “mofusand.”

 

■ “ULTRA MART TOKYO” Concept

 

“ULTRA MART TOKYO” is more than a character merchandise store. It aims to become the kind of place where people naturally say, “Let’s meet in front of the ULTRA MART in Harajuku.” A new Harajuku landmark, it will be a place where people gather, meet up, take photos, and share moments and conversation.

At its heart is “Ultraman,” celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. In Harajuku, where new trends and cultures are constantly emerging, the store will pursue new forms of expression while engaging with diverse perspectives across creativity, fashion, art, and technology. Although the store itself will remain at this location, it will introduce new projects and themes periodically. As a cultural crossroads where the unexpected can happen, it will offer new discoveries and surprises with every visit. Here begins a “new Ultra” unlike anything seen before, where history meets the cutting edge.

 

■ First Theme: “ULTRA CUTE” — An “Ultra-Cute” Collaboration Between “mofusand” and Ultraman

 

Although ULTRA MART TOKYO is a permanent store, its themes and immersive in-store world will change periodically. The first collaboration merchandise collection is an exclusive partnership with “mofusand,” a character created by popular illustrator Juno. To mark the 30th anniversary of Ultraman Tiga’s broadcast debut this year, a store-exclusive accessory plush toy featuring a “mofusand” cat dressed as the globally popular hero will be available. This collaboration brings together the powerful world of Ultraman and the slightly surreal, adorable cats of “mofusand.”

The store will offer an assortment of cute items, including premium limited-edition products available only here, while bringing the “ULTRA CUTE” world to life throughout the space.

The theme is “The Intersection of the Future and Harajuku.”

In an entirely mirrored space, light, video, music, and visitors’ movements overlap to create a world that seems to extend endlessly. The space brings together imagery of the future and outer space associated with Ultraman and Harajuku’s cutting-edge culture. A unified design concept extends from the staff uniforms to the displays. Visitors, visuals, and light are reflected throughout the space, changing its appearance from moment to moment. The result is an immersive environment unique to ULTRA MART.

【Music】

 

Music is an essential element of the ULTRA MART environment. The soundscape brings together Ultraman’s futuristic sensibility and the expansive feel of the “Land of Light” with Harajuku culture. It blends seamlessly into the space and naturally lifts visitors’ spirits. Changing with the time of day and each project, and layered with the mirrored light and visuals, it creates an atmosphere found only at ULTRA MART.

【Staff Uniforms】

 

Staff members also help embody the world of ULTRA MART. Inspired by the team uniforms seen throughout the Ultraman Series, the design combines details evocative of the future and outer space with Harajuku culture. More than mere “costumes,” the uniforms feature a refined design that balances fashion and function, creating a look that is distinctively ULTRA MART.

【Wall Display “Ultra Window”】

 

The “Ultra Window” is a large-scale display facing the streets of Harajuku. Through periodically changing video content and themed exhibits, it extends the store’s world beyond the interior and out into the city. Designed to make passersby stop, take photos, and share them, it serves as a new medium connecting the streets of Harajuku with ULTRA MART.

【Symbol Display “Ultra Monument”】

 

A gleaming silver Ultraman Tiga, approximately 3 meters tall, appears as visitors step inside the store. As a symbol of ULTRA MART, it welcomes guests. Reflected again and again across the fully mirrored space, its image seems to extend throughout the entire environment, creating an irresistible photo spot.
