As part of the Ultraman Series’ 60th anniversary celebrations, a variety of initiatives, including the “Ultraman Tiga 30th Premium Stage,” are planned.
■ Ultraman Day
On July 10, 1966, one week before the broadcast of Episode 1 of Ultraman, “Ultra Operation No. 1” (aired July 17), a commemorative event entitled Ultraman Eve: The Birth of Ultraman was held at Suginami Koukaidou in Tokyo. The event brought together Ultraman, Ultra Kaiju, and the Science Special Search Party, with a guest appearance by Eiji Tsuburaya, “the father of tokusatsu.” In recognition of this event, July 10 was later established as “Ultraman Day,” which is officially recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association.
■ Ultra Series 60th Anniversary Project
On July 10, 1966, Ultraman first appeared on television. Since then, the Ultra series has evolved alongside the times, inspiring audiences and conveying the messages of “Courage”, “Hope”, and “Kindness”. As the franchise approaches its 60th anniversary in 2026, the “Ultra Series 60th Anniversary Project” is currently underway to celebrate this historic milestone.
