The new TV series Ultraman Trigger will premiere on Ultraman Day, July 10th, on the TV Tokyo Network in Japan. Every Thursday for over a month, we’ve revealed a new member of the main cast, and at long last we come to our final introduction.   In today’s update, we introduce the pivotal character, Mitsukuni Shizuma, founder and president of global mega-conglomerate, the Sizuma Foundation, and the visionary leader behind the creation of the Terrestrial Peaceable Union (TPU) and the Expert Team GUTS-Select. Father of our heroine, Yuna Shizuma, and playing the key role that begins this story, we are thrilled to announce that Mitsukuni will be played by star actor, Shin Takuma!   Since making his acting debut in a 1979 TV drama, Shin Takuma has become a household name, appearing in countless films and TV programs. His poised performances and signature style exudes gentleness and warmth. In recent years, Shin can be seen in his highly acclaimed performance as a comical warrior character in the TV drama series The Hero Yoshihiko and has amassed a growing fanbase among the younger generation in Japan.   Next Thursday, June 10 at 5PM(JST), all eight main cast members, including Kengo and Mitsukuni, plus Main Director Koichi Sakamoto, will unite for a Livestream Event, coming to you from inside the GUTS-Select anti-monster battleship, the Nursedessei. This event will only be streamed in Japan, however, we will post a report here right after the event ends.   Mitsukuni Shizuma (60 years old)   After building the world’s leading business conglomerate, he leveraged his fortune for the greater good of society and created the Sizuma Foundation. In the Foundation’s pursuit of space exploration and ancient alien research, he uncovers a looming, interstellar threat to mankind. In order to confront this menace, he united the governments of the world and established the TPU and the Expert Team GUTS-Select.
