Tsuburaya Productions Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masayuki Nagatake) will begin broadcasting the new TV series Ultraman Teo on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. (JST), on the TV Tokyo Network’s six channels, with simultaneous worldwide broadcast and distribution in multiple languages.

 

We are pleased to announce the main characters and cast supporting protagonist Ibuki Mitsuishi (played by Aoi Iwasaki), along with Pucchi, the Mini Kaiju, and its voice actor.

 

■ Characters and Main Cast of New TV Series Ultraman Teo

 

The members of the Meishin University Astronomy Club act alongside protagonist Ibuki Mitsuishi. All being third-year students in the university’s Department of Veterinary Medicine, they study a wide range of animals and confront many lives, including kaiju,  through their seminars.

Giant kaiju pose a threat to Earth, but they are also living beings. Is it impossible to protect them?

Raised in different backgrounds and environments, the students sometimes clash but gradually build trust, facing life itself as they grow as individuals.

 

Emma Kazama (Played by Amane Kamiya)

 

 

The 21-year-old president of the Astronomy Club, who majors in veterinary medicine.

She is cheerful and caring, and naturally takes on a leadership role. She tries to bring the group together, but often struggles to keep things under control. Whereas, when faced with a challenge, she is capable of making a thoughtful decision. She has an intuitive and unique way of thinking and comes up with nicknames for kaiju.

Kanna Izumi (Played by Noa Nakada)

 

 

The 21-year-old Astronomy Club member, who majors in animal science and biotechnology. She likes tinkering with machines and shows great focus and involvement in her areas of interest, but has little concern for others and struggles with group activities. She joined the Astronomy Club because they were largely inactive, so she thought she could spend her time alone. She aspires to become a specialist in animal prosthetics and orthotics.

 

■ Noa Nakada as Kanna

The Ultraman Series is loved by so many people. I feel honored to be part of that admired world and its long history. 

Every experience since the audition has been a treasure to me. Playing Kanna came with its share of struggles because I cared so deeply, but thanks to the team who supported me, I was able to see it through to the end. This story also taught me that it’s okay for everyone to have different strengths and weaknesses.

Rintaro Hiura (Played by Yu Uemura)

 

 

The 20-year-old Astronomy Club member, who majors in veterinary medicine. He is reserved, logical, and observes things realistically, making him come across as cold at first glance; however, he harbors a quiet kindness, especially in his desire to help Pucchi. He possesses extensive knowledge but struggles with a particular weakness, which he privately wrestles with as a complex.

Wataru Tomabechi (Played by Ryoma Morimoto)

 

 

The 33-year-old Astronomy Club member, who majors in veterinary medicine. A former rescue worker, he enrolled at Meishin University following a regrettable disaster response. Aspiring to save the lives of animals as a second career, he studies veterinary medicine alongside classmates who are over a decade younger than himself. He asks others to call him by the nickname “Bechi,” but it hasn’t quite stuck.

 

■ Ryoma Morimoto as Wataru

It is a great honor to be part of the Ultraman Series, which has been loved by so many for over 60 years.

I found many aspects of Tomabechi that resonated with me and approached the role with a strong sense of connection.

To bring authenticity to his background as a former rescue worker, I pushed myself physically and trained at the gym 8 days a week!

Tomabechi is a kind and responsible character, and I hope audiences will come to like him as well.

With the broadcast on July 4 approaching, I’m filled with excitement! I hope we can build this new chapter of Ultraman together. Please look forward to a new kind of “Ultraman!”

 

Pucchi, the Mini Kaiju (Voiced by Yu Kobayashi)

 

 

The friend of the Astronomy Club members and a key character who helps shape the story alongside Ibuki and the Meishin University students.

Pucchi meets Ibuki deep in the mountains near the university and is later taken in by the Astronomy Club. Emma names it a “mini kaiju.”

With a gentle and innocent character as well as a cute appearance and voice, the mini kaiju—who loves donuts—also possesses a certain special ability.

The Astronomy Club members call it “Pucchi,” while Emma, known for her distinctive naming sense, calls it “Poochy-Pie.”

■ About the Filming Location of Meishin University Department of Veterinary Medicine 

 

Scenes set at Meishin University, the main setting of the story, were filmed at Azabu University in Kanagawa Prefecture, which has a veterinary faculty, conducts extensive animal research and care, and has produced the largest number of veterinarians in Japan. The script and classroom scenes were developed and filmed under the supervision of the university president, as well as many professors and faculty members. Audiences can look forward to the immersive scenes with animals, carefully filmed for authenticity.

 

Ultraman Teo Series Outline

The commemorative work for the Ultraman Series’ 60th anniversary follows a lonely alien who arrives on Earth after losing his home planet and takes the form of university student Ibuki Mitsuishi (played by Aoi Iwasaki). As he encounters life on Earth and faces the threat of kaiju, he must overcome his reluctance to fight to protect those before him. Transforming into a blue giant, he fights alongside new companions and grows into a true Ultraman—at the heart of a tokusatsu coming-of-age ensemble drama.
