May.31, 2024

News

We are announcing this week’s latest updates for the new series Ultraman Arc, which will be aired on TV Tokyo Network and broadcasted and/or streamed worldwide at 9:00 a.m. JST on July 6, 2024 (Sat).

This week’s update features the music of the show.

The opening theme song is performed by “access,” and the ending theme song is by ARCANA PROJECT. The soundtrack is made by Yuki Hayashi, an experienced artist whose resume includes multiple popular anime as well as TV dramas and shows. Their music will further enhance the heated battles and massive dreams brought to us by Ultraman Arc and Yuma.

Opening Theme Song: arc jump’n to the sky by access

The opening theme song features the unit, access, which consists of keyboard artist Daisuke Asakura and vocalist Hiroyuki Takami. Soon after its debut in November 1992, the unit quickly hit the top rankings in music charts. The unit’s sound creation using digital synthesizers as well as their live performance have continued to evolve since then, during which Daisuke Asakura also composed and performed the first opening theme song for 2016’s Ultraman Orb THE ORIGIN SAGA. Hiroyuki Takami has also excelled not only in music but also as an actor, having even experienced “transformation” roles, making him popular among tokusatsu fans as well.

<Comments from access>

We, access, are very excited and thrilled to make this opening theme song for Ultraman Arc. Ultraman, whom we used to love so much as kids, continues to provide dreams and courage to children in Japan after almost 60 years. This is very exciting and we really appreciate that.

And now in 2024, we have made this song with our honest feelings about Arc, whose power comes from dreams and imagination. We hope everyone can feel our respect for Ultraman as well as a lot of positivity.

The ending theme song is made by the 5-person anime song vocal unit ARCANA PROJECT. The unit is produced jointly by DEARSTAGE, where idol groups Dempagumi.Inc and Niji no Conquistador belong, and Lantis, who is known for producing countless hit anime songs. The five members — Usa Sakurano, Hana Hanamiya, Shion Aida, Hikaru Amano, Aozora Sorano, with their own motif based on tarot cards — present a pop and danceable ending to the episodes with their distinctive vocal performances.

<Comments from ARCANA PROJECT>

We are ARCANA PROJECT and we will be performing the ending theme song for Ultraman Arc! It’s such a great pleasure for us to get the opportunity to be involved in a series as well-known and historical as Ultraman.

This song, Mera Mera, is a bright and cheerful song that resonates with everyone who’s chasing their dreams. We have made this song to convey the message that it’s up to ourselves to pave the way for our own future.

It’s also a cheerful song that makes that’s hard to resist. Join us and let’s dance together!
