The new TV Series Ultraman Omega will be broadcast on the TV Tokyo Network and worldwide starting July 5th 9:00 a.m. JST.

This week, we are excited to announce that Ayano Kudo will play the female lead, Ayumu Ichido.

Ayumu Ichido (Age 27)

A biologist working for the National Center For Natural Research (NCFNR). While continuing to research endangered species in Japan, she helps with the government’s investigation into kaiju when they appear. She was inspired to get involved in animal protection by her parents, who are vets. She has cherished living things from a young age and reptiles are her favorite animals… especially turtles. Her dream is to live on a southern island, engaging in animal conservation and observing turtles. She is a lively but serious woman who takes determined steps toward her dream. After their fateful encounter at the scene of a kaiju incident she begins working with Sorato and Kosei, who call her “Ayu.” As she follows kaiju incidents, she begins to contemplate the budding relationship between kaiju and humanity.

Born on May 28, 1996 (age 28) in Miyazaki Prefecture.

She made a spectacular entertainment industry debut winning the Grand Prix at the 2009 Japan Bishojo Contest. At 170 cm in height, her tall physique built through dance and ballet also won her first place in the modeling category, making her the first contestant in history to win two prizes. As early as the following year, at age 14, she landed her first lead role in a movie. Her consistently entrancing performances have earned her a wide variety of roles, with dramas and movies as her focus.

Growing up, I was exposed to the world of Ultraman thanks to my younger brother.
Before I knew it, Ultraman became very near and dear to me.
It’s a dream come true and a great honor to be involved in this world that has been so familiar since I was a child.
As I played Ayumu, her strong character as “Ayu” and her determination to take steps toward her dream really affected me.
Children and adults from all over the world can enjoy this series. I hope that starting this summer it will reach a lot of people! Please look forward to it!
