The new TV Series Ultraman Omega will be broadcast on the TV Tokyo Network and worldwide starting July 5th 9:00 a.m. JST. 
This week, we are pleased to introduce Kosei Hoshimi, played by Haruto Yoshida, and the “Meteokaiju” that Kosei controls.

Kosei Hoshimi (Age 21)

An Earthling who encounters and befriends the alien Omega=Sorato. He works part-time as a live-in warehouse caretaker while he figures out what to do with his future. After encountering Omega, the naturally kind Kosei is swayed by the amnesiac alien’s genuine interest towards Earth. He decides to support Omega, getting involved in kaiju incidents and giving the alien his Earth-name, “Sorato.” Soon, he gains the power to control Omega’s allies, kaiju partners called “Meteokaiju.” Fighting side by side, he and Sorato deepen their connection and build a friendship between an Earthling and an alien.

Haruto Yoshida as Kosei

Born on December 15, 2000 (age 24) in Tokyo.

He admired the heroes in foreign movies he watched with his parents as a child, inspiring him to become an actor. He made his debut in dramas and movies while in elementary school and rose to fame as a child actor playing the protagonist’s son in an influential director’s period drama film. In addition to dramas and movies he has taken roles in stage productions, expanding his experience and range and showcasing his talent as a popular young actor in a variety of works. With his sights set on the global stage, he is very enthusiastic about this series.

Hello everyone. My name is Haruto Yoshida and I will play the role of Kosei Hoshimi. I am delighted to follow in the footsteps of those who came before me to continue the history of Ultraman as a member of the latest addition to this series that is loved all over the world. I gave my all for this role so I hope that seeing Kosei grow as he fights alongside Sorato and the Meteokaiju, borrowing their power, will impress this series’ important message on everyone’s hearts. Let’s show the world our excitement for Ultraman Omega together!

Meteokaiju

Ultraman Omega’s kaiju partners that Kosei controls. Normally, before transforming into full-sized kaiju, they stand by in Sleep Mode, taking the form of kaiju figurines. They shift into a form called Kaiju Mode in response to Kosei’s will to fight with Omega. Light particles shoot out from their bodies and they transform into giant kaiju that are one with Kosei, following his instructions and fighting by Omega’s side.

Rekiness, the Meteokaiju

The first Meteokaiju Kosei obtains. It has psychokinetic abilities that can make objects move or stop, such as making rocks levitate. It is friendly in nature and grows attached to Kosei.

Trigaron, the Meteokaiju

The second Meteokaiju Kosei obtains. It has exceptionally high athletic ability, excelling in power and speed. Its rough personality mirrors its aggressive fighting style.
