2021 will be the 25^th anniversary of Ultraman Tiga’s first broadcast.   In 1996, the first new Ultraman TV series in fifteen years, Ultraman Tiga, was released domestically to an enthusiastic reception and instantly became a smash hit. Ultraman Tiga and its successive series Ultraman Dyna (1997) and Ultraman Gaia (1998) are lovingly called “TDG,” short for “Tiga, Dyna, and Gaia.”   Now, we are pleased to present the commemorative 25^th anniversary logo for TDG. We hope that you will continue to enjoy the Ultraman series.     <Summary of Ultraman Tiga> ◆Story Outline 30 million years ago, Tiga, the Giant of Light, protected the Ultra Ancient people. After the Ultra Ancient civilization died out, Tiga turned into a stone statue, but he was resurrected when Tiga merged with the defense team GUTS’ pilot Daigo, who possessed the genetics to turn into light. At the same time, something in the world’s equilibrium began to fall apart. Numerous inexplicable beings came to attack from space or other dimensions. Earth in the 21st century faced a crisis of survival. Could Daigo and GUTS defeat the myriad enemies threatening humankind? And could they save the Earth from destruction?   ◆Features A distinguishing feature of the Ultraman Tiga story is that it is not only a large-scale science fiction tale, but also a well-crafted human drama. Tiga is portrayed as a “human Ultraman” that unites with the human Daigo, and the development and suffering of Daigo and the other characters are depicted throughout. The perspective is sometimes also broadened to social issues and environmental issues, making for a story that can be enjoyed by people of various generations.
